Someone passed on a link to Ashley Getting Dressed, who did a fun and cute dialect vlog. The point is to say a list of words, and answer a list of questions to see how different bloggers sound in different parts of the country. A few bloggers that I know and love have participated:
Pickles & Paisleys
Little BGCG
Haute Single Mama
She’s Mommafied
Million Dream Mom
Daddy Green’s Pride (my husband!)
Baby Dickey
Baby Gator’s Den
3 Kids and Us
Soleil Selene
Mama Dweeb
Mama & the Dudes
Here is my vlog. Enjoy!

Here is the list of words, and also the list of questions :
I’ve learned a few things by watching my own vlog.
- My hair looked funny when I recorded this.
- My sinuses make my eyes dry. I blink a lot.
- The angle I chose? Not so flattering.
- I’m dorktastic!
I should have done something with my hair and slapped on some damn concealer. Hope you enjoyed me in my spaztastic, tired-looking glory. If you create a dialect vlog, be sure to link up in the comments!
When it rains and it sunny out, we call it a sun shower! "Oh it wont last long, its just a little sun shower."
I love this!!! By the way is there any different answer to the rain falling while the sun is shining?
Well, according to some it's a "sunshower" (see above commenter) but apparently in the south it's "the devil beating his wife". o_O
That is what we call it here in the South. But as a child I always wondered what sort of woman got duped into marrying the devil.
pants
LOL.
I totally did a video! I love dialect videos. LOL. Mine is here: http://milliondreammom.blogspot.com/2011/03/hey-y…
There was a certain part that I was like "ZOMG I AM COMMENTING ON THAT!" but now I forgot. You're cute and stuff.
Why are your comments moderated? You suck.
So I can keep crazy people like you off my blog if I wanted to. BOO YAH
hahaha, cracking up at your sideways glance at the camera regarding your drug usage. and your vlog just reminded me–we took a family vacation to TN was I was little. The waitress asking me what kind of Coke I wanted??? BLEW MY MIND. I probably thought she was a freaking idiot, but spent the entire rest of the vacation trying to have my parents explain to me what IN THE WORLD was going on! I totally remember being like… but Coke is COKE! I don't get it! If Coke isn't Coke, what's pop? hahaha. I think I was traumatized by that. DAMN YOU, TN.
pop is your father
I like how you stop in the middle of everything and dance to her toy. You are such a dorktopus
Hi! I am joining in tonight and having fun listening to everyone! This is very enlightening and educational, I gotta say!
I posted a dialect vlog on my blog, I'm from Kansas and do NOT have an accent, I swear.
I can hear your Chicago coming through in "both" very strong.
I have never heard it called Rolling! And I have never heard of rolling drugs either but then again I'm soooo sheltered LOL
Yup! I so totally call everything coke too! I thought I was crazy but guess not. LOL @ the toy! We call those booby traps kids purposefully leave on the floor to drive us crazy. I am seriously cracking up over the toy. I can't hardly type.
Daddy long legs are NOT terrifying. Did you know they are actually poisonous but have such a tiny mouth they can never bite you? Yeah I didn't either till I met my husband.
Rain falling while sun is shining….that is what I call it too! I had no idea there was a name for it till this thing. I had so much fun!
Come see me! Thanks!
you sounded cute! I could tell you were from Chicago! I was born in Michigan and then lived in New York but then lived in NE from kindergarten on and so many people say I don't sound like a Nebraskan. They always say I sound like I am from the East Coast, so weird to hear that! Loved that the cat stepped on the toy! No drugs, hmmm!
I don't think I want to hear or watch me on video so I doubt I will being a vlog. It looks like fun though!
LOL…love the dialect vlog! Strangely enough though you and I say a lot of those words the same way and I grew up in Alabama…go figure. My nickname in high school was yankee bitch because I didn't talk like an uneducated bumpkin.
I definitely heard some Chicago when you said "both" … it's kinda funny being just a few hours south of Chicago we sound dramatically different than the folks up north.

When I lived in Oklahoma (for all of 6 weeks) they called all the soda "Coke" too.
And your hair looks just fine…and speaking of sinuses, you should hear my congested vlog.
